Guaranty Title Company of Grimes County was founded in Anderson, Texas, in 1976 by Mary Davis, a well-known and respected escrow officer in Grimes County. After the retirement of Mary Davis in about 1990 the company was purchased by attorney, Rita McQuordale and her husband Steve, who also owned a title company in Madisonville County, Texas. Upon Rita’s death in 1998, Kterrell Title Services, Inc., whose principal stockholder is Kathleen Terrell, an attorney in Grimes County, and lifelong resident of Navasota, Texas, purchased the title plant from the McQuordales.
Under the ownership of Kterrell Title Services, Inc., Guaranty Title Company of Grimes County has quadrupled its gross operations, grown from two employees to nine, computerized its title plant, and added and expanded its Navasota branch office. Today, the title company averages over 900 title commitments a year, and in 2006 it handled in excess of $23 million in non-commercial, residential sales alone.
As we continue to grow, we hold on to the principals and business practices that have led us this far: exemplary customer service combined with a commitment to doing things the right way.
